This 2-day Neuromuscular Ultrasound Workshop course conducted by Dr. Chelsea Shugars will help participants to better understand the clinical benefits of Neuromuscular Ultrasound (NMUS).
Course objectivesÂ
- Increase general knowledge to better perform and/or interpret MSK ultrasound examinations
- Understand proper transducer selection and manipulation
- Know and understand the InVisus Pro system operation and optimal utilization
- List the indications, benefits and limitations of NMUS
- Know and demonstrate scanning protocols for shoulder, elbow, wrist, knee and ankle
- Identify US appearance of common pathologies
- Learn about Ultrasound-guided botulinum toxin injections
Intended audience: Physicians and technologists who would like to enhance/review ultrasound techniques, and get a hands-on experience in performing some of the common and uncommon scanning techniques.

Neuromuscular Medicine Physician Erlanger Health System, Chattanooga
Dr. Chelsea Shugars completed her undergraduate studies at Clemson University and attended Medical School at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University. She completed her neurology residency and neuromuscular medicine fellowship at Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem. Dr. Shugars is currently assistant professor at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine and is a Neuromuscular Medicine Physician at Erlanger Health System, Chattanooga. Dr. Shugars has been practicing NMUS for over 4 years and was involved with teaching at the Neuromuscular Medicine Fellowship at Wake Forest.
