This 2-day NMUS Clinical Application Training course conducted by Dr. Zsuzsanna Arányi, Dr. Josef Böhm and Marta Soares Santos will help participants to better understand the clinical benefits of Neuromuscular Ultrasound (NMUS).

Course objectives 

  • Develop an understanding of the clinical benefits of Neuromuscular Ultrasound (NMUS)
  • Exploration of ultrasonographic findings in various neuromuscular conditions
  • Develop hands on experience with a NMUS system on normal subjects

  • Josef Böhm

    Josef Böhm

    MD

    Dr. Josef Böhm qualified as a neurologist in 1996 at the Bruderkrankenhaus in Koblenz. He was Medical Director on the Neurological Rehabilitations Clinic in Vallendar before taking on the role of Head of the Neurology Department at the General Hospital in Freiburg. Dr. Böhm currently runs a Private Practice in Berlin with a focus on Nerves and Neuromuscular Ultrasound. He completed his PhD in “High resolution sonography of peripheral nerves: normal values in healthy individuals and the role of sonography in rare disorders of peripheral nerves”. Dr. Böhm is a regular speaker at DEGUM and has extensive publications in the field of NMUS.

  • Marta Soares Santos

    Marta Soares Santos

    Marta Soares Santos has a Bachelor’s Degree in Neurophysiology and a Master’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering from Escola Superior de Biotecnologia of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa (Portugal). She has 9 years’ experience in clinical neurophysiology roles in hospitals, as well as product and sales knowledge in medical devices companies in Portugal. In parallel, she was an invited EMG teacher at Escola Superior de Tecnologias da Saude of the Instituto Politecnico de Coimbra. Marta joined Natus in 2023 as an International Clinical Applications Specialist EMG/EP/US for the EMEA region.

    Zsuzsanna Arányi

    MD, PhD

    Zsuzsanna Arányi, MD, PhD, Doctor of Science of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences is a professor of neurology and clinical neurophysiology, the Head of the Laboratory of Clinical Neurophysiology and the tertiary referral centre for neuromuscular disorders at the Dept. of Neurology, Semmelweis University in Budapest, Hungary. She is a member of the governing body of the Hungarian Society of Clinical Neurophysiology, the Hungarian Society of Neurology, the Public Body and the Clinical Neuroscience Committee of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, and the European Academy of Neurology (EAN) Scientific Panel Neuropathies.
