This 2-day workshop conducted by Dr. Jeffrey Strakowski, an expert in Neuromuscular Ultrasound, will cover essential scanning techniques of nerves and muscle using the Natus InVisus Pro system. This clinical training course is intended for physicians, technologists and other healthcare professionals who would like to enhance their knowledge in performing Neuromuscular Ultrasound as an adjunct to other electrophysiological testing modalities and get hands-on experience in scanning techniques of the upper and lower extremities.
Course objectives 
  • Increase general knowledge to better perform and/or interpret MSK ultrasound examinations
  • Understand proper transducer selection and manipulation
  • Know and understand the InVisus Pro system operation and optimal utilization
  • List the indications, benefits and limitations of NMUS
  • Know and demonstrate scanning protocols for shoulder, elbow, wrist, knee and ankle
  • Identify normal anatomy during NMUS imaging
  • Identify US appearance of common pathologies of shoulder, elbow, wrist ankle
  • Understand “in-plane” and “out of plane” injection techniques

Intended audience
Physicians, technologists and other healthcare professionals who would like to enhance their knowledge in performing Neuromuscular Ultrasound as an adjunct to other electrophysiological testing modalities and get hands-on experience in scanning techniques of the upper and lower extremities using the Natus InVisus Pro System.

    Dr. Jeffrey A. Strakowski

    MD

    Dr. Strakowski completed his undergraduate studies at Indiana University and attended medical school and completed his residency at The Ohio State University Department of Physical Medicine. Dr. Strakowski is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, with subspecialty certifications in Neuromuscular Medicine, Sports Medicine, and Spinal Cord Injury Medicine. He is also ABEM certified in Electrodiagnostic Medicine and holds certification in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS). Dr. Strakowski is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of PM&R at The Ohio State University, as well as Associate Director of Medical Education in the Department of PM&R at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Dr. Strakowski also sees patients at his Riverside office.
