Event Details

Course introduction:
Pressure reactivity index (PRx) is a form of cerebral autoregulation that looks at moving correlation coefficients of intracranial pressure and mean arterial pressure. Average PRx values have been associated with clinical outcome in numerous pathologies including aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage. In this discussion, we offer methods on how continuous PRx monitoring may aid in prognostication in poor-grade, comatose subarachnoid hemorrhage patients and help evaluate for vasospasm.

Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this eSeminar the participants will be able to:

  • Understand the concept of pressure reactivity index
  • Understand the concept of optimized cerebral perfusion pressure and explore baseline supporting studies
  • Evaluate pitfalls and benefits of using pressure reactivity index in prognostication for poor-grade aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage
