Background
Epilepsy is one of the most commonly encountered neurological diseases with an overall incidence close to 1%. The primary treatment for epilepsy is usually antiepileptic drugs but there have been new developments in this field over the years. On the other hand, there are also epileptic conditions which remain intractable to medication and patients continue to have seizures even after being treated with AEDs.
