Background
Tremor is one of the most common movement disorders, it is for example the only symptom in a neurological disorder called essential tremor. It can be assessed by clinical observations, rating scales and needle EMG. However, subtle changes in EMG may not be sufficient to properly assess the tremor type, which is why tremor analysis has been developed. This paper reviews multiple publications on tremor analysis in order to understand the basic concepts underlying such examination and steps to follow for proper tremor assessment
