About 1 in 500 outpatient visits to all doctors were related to carpal tunnel syndrome in 2006. In this DVD the authors provide a comprehensive summary of CTS. After discussing the anatomy of the median nerve, the different types of anastomosis are presented. Next, the authors illustrate manual muscle testing, assessment of sensation, and signs. This is followed by demonstration of a battery of electrodiagnostic studies. Questions and Answers address many important and practical issues such as patient management, diabetes, etc. The case studies reveal the thought process to rule in/out the CTS. Supplementary material includes suggested reference values and Practice Parameters by AANEM.
