The prompt detection and treatment of non-convulsive seizure (NCS) and non-convulsive status epilepticus (NCSE) is an important part of the optimal care patients with severe traumatic brain injury. Bedside ICU nurses have critical role in detecting and treating NCS and NCSE. This lecture, presented by Lawrence Chyall RN, MS, CNS, from San Francisco General Hospital will describe the adoption of continuous EEG monitoring program in a neurotrauma ICU using the framework of the integration of continuous electrocardiograph monitoring.
