Multiple Sleep Latency Test and Maintenance of Wakefulness Test in adults

The AASM proposed new rules (dated Aug 23, 2021) related to the performance of both of the MSLT and MWT tests since the publication of the 2005 AASM practice parameter paper. The task force made several changes including guidance on patient preparation, medication and substance use, sleep prior to testing, test scheduling, optimum test conditions, and documentation.
