Multimodality neurologic monitoring is an emerging technique in pediatric and adult neurocritical care. It represents the integration of a variety of cerebral and systemic monitors to evaluate for changes in brain function in the critical care setting. In this presentation, Dr. Brian Appavu from Phoenix Children’s Hospital will review individual modalities that are integrated within multimodality neurologic monitoring and discuss the evidence that supports the value and utility of its application for critically ill children.
Course Objectives:
1. Discuss modalities used for multimodality neurologic monitoring in children.
2. Discuss the value of multimodality neurologic monitoring in optimizing neuroprotection in critically ill children.
3. Provide the latest evidence of biomarkers derived from multimodality neurologic monitoring for critically ill children.
