With the advent of digital EEG technology and growth of ICU EEG monitoring, quantitative EEG (QEEG) has emerged as a prominent clinical tool and research area in ICU EEG monitoring. QEEG has demonstrated the potential for improving ICU EEG monitoring by enhancing the speed and efficiency of interpretation as well as the potential for detecting events not easily seen with routine EEG review.
