In this eSeminar, Dr Truong Do from the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Minnesota presents a deeper understanding of traumatic brain injury and its progression from primary to secondary brain injury. Dr. Do will also briefly review the molecular mechanisms and pathophysiological processes that contribute to secondary brain injury sustained through trauma. Understanding these processes will allow us to explore the available clinical interventions that are aimed at minimizing secondary brain injury. Additionally, we will review the invasive and non-invasive monitoring modalities aimed at minimizing secondary brain injury.
