Event Details

Course introduction:
Laryngeal electromyography (LEMG) is an invaluable adjunct to laryngological assessment, diagnosis and treatment of voice disorders. This eSeminar provides some basic information regarding laryngeal anatomy that is compulsory before practicing LEMG. Then, techniques used for properly performing it and for recording of EMG activity of each muscle are detailed. Finally, main indications and expected results are presented, including typical recordings. At the end, attending people should be ready to try to perform this specific examination.

Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this eseminar the participants will be able to:

    • To master laryngeal muscle anatomy
    • To master the techniques for EMG needle insertion for the different muscles of interest
    • To be able to properly interpret EMG recordings
